Personal Pet
(part three)
Kyle

~*~

The cell door screeched open, jerking Kyle from the little sleep he had managed to get. The calico was instantly on his feet, backed slightly against the far wall, but Gabriel stood more slowly, his red eyes fixed on the vampire.

But Caine didn't even aknowledge Gabriel was there. His swirling silver eyes were fixed on Kyle. The cat demon shuddered at the calm, unpleasant smirk that seemed to hold a lot of forboding for him. The calico adverted his eyes down to the floor, unable to hold the vampire's piercing, cold gaze.

Kyle felt cool fingertips brush his cheek and he gasped and recoiled, staring up at the vampire that now stood before him, silent and smirking. Kyle had only glanced down for a mere second.

The vampire had the poor cat demon pinned to the wall in the blink of an eye. The calico bit back a small whimper as a long-clawed held his chin gently, forcing him to keep his eyes on Caine's. The vampire smirked, and without a word, he tilted Kyle's face to one side and back slightly, then lowered his mouth towards the boy's exposed throat.

The cat demon shuddered and twisted his wrists in the shakles in a hopeless effort. His entire body seemed to tense, expecting to feel the razor-like fangs sinking into his flesh. He felt the vampire's lips brush his skin, then the points of those fangs brushing along the pulsing vein in his neck... but not breaking the skin.

Caine inhaled the calico's rich scent, thick with fear. He grinned, and now his lips hovered over the cat's ear. "You're going to be punished, pet." He whispered.

The vampire's soft voice was melodic with a hidden purr. But it's hypnotic charms were deaf to the calico's ears as his eyes widened and his heart beat quickened with fear. "I-I've done nothing...!" He said desprately.

The silver-eyed vampire smirked again, pulling away just enough to look at the cat demon's brown and blue mismatched eyes. "Yes, I know. And we're going to make sure it stays that way." His voice had a pleased, wicked tone to it.

Kyle tried to swallow but found that his throat was too dry and when he tried to speak, only a terrified whimper left his lips. Almost instantly his eyes darted towards the right wall. Hanging there was something Kyle had already spotted and recognized... and kept a good distance from. It was a coiled whip hanging on a single nail. The whip was jagged, meaning that it had bits of glass and sharp stone worked through it. The soul perpous of these was simple; to take flesh with every stroke. Kyle shuddered tightly, then realized Caine was speaking again.

"When they know the punishment, crimals are less likely to perform the crime." He smirked again.

The cat demon stared down at the ground for a long minute, trying to controll his trembling. Whips were certainly nothing new, not even jagged like the one here, but taking the beating from a creature with inhuman strength.... Kyle shuddered again.

Then Kyle felt his chin lifted by cold fingers again. Caine stood smirking, the uncoiled whip in his other hand. "Remove your shirt."

Kyle's eyes grew wide and he found himself fighting down panic. "Please! I-I--"

"For every moment you hesitate, I will add five stripes." The vampire interupted smoothly.

The calico froze. With trembling hands, he slowly removed what he poorly called a shirt. His front and back were criss-crossed with the pearl white scars of countless other beatings, though only the truely brutal or recient left their lasting mark on his skin.

The vampire turned the whip in his hand. "Turn around."

Kyle fought to controll his rising fear. "P-Please...."

"Five stripes." His voice seemed to be loosing it's polished edge.

The cat demon bit back a whimper and turned his back to the vampire, facing the cold stone wall. Kyle glanced towards the opposite side of the cell desprately. Gabriel sat there in the corner, his legs pulled to his chest and his arms wrapped around his knees, his eyes closed tight. He seemed to be as much afraid of the coming beating as Kyle. It caused the calico to shudder again. He closed his eyes and his forehead pressed against the cool stone as he fought to controll his breathing, preparing for the first strike.

Usually he heard the whip before he felt it, but not this time. The cat demon managed to bite back his scream, so only a loud whimper of pain escaped his throat. Warm blood began trickling down his back where the whip had left it's angry, jagged line across his skin.

The second lash made an X accross his back with the first, and this time Kyle barely held down a cry. His long claws dug into the solid rock, leaving shallow scars in the stone. The shards of glass and stone did their work, leaving another bloody trail. It was extreamly easy to feel the vampire's strength behind the whip.

Then Kyle cried out in pain with the third, as it landed almost directly where the first had. The whip tore his already weakened flesh, blood flowing freely.

Every strike was worse then the last as the greedy whip sought to take more and more with every stripe.

Finally, panting for breath and whimpering in agony, the only thing keeping Kyle from sinking to his knees was the wall in front of him. His fingernails were bloody with digging his claws into the stone. And blood flowed in hot waves down the ruined flesh of his back. He was tremblings violently and sweat glistened over his whole body, tears streaming down his cheeks.

Through ears numbed by his own screams echoing off the stone walls, Kyle heard the soft, almost inaudible sound of slow dripping. Out of the corner of one half-lidded eye, he saw the vampire replacing the coiled whip on the wall, all traces of the smirk gone from his pale features. The soft dripping sound was his own blood dripping from the whip.

Shuddering and exhausted with pain, Kyle closed his eyes, his forehead still rested on the stone, the agony threatening to thow him into unconciousness. He felt a cool hand on his throat, tilting his head back, away from the wall. He felt the vampire's breath against his ear. "Now you know the price of rebeliance." He whispered. His voice seemed odd, though, but Kyle no longer cared. He couldn't think beyond the pain.

The hand moved to the side of his neck, then slowly to his shoulder, then two fingers traced one of the torn trails of flesh across his back, causing Kyle to moan and whimper in pain.

The vampire's silver eyes looked at his two fingers coated in blood, then slowly brought them to his mouth, licking them clean. He moaned with satisfaction, his silver eyes flashing slightly.

Kyle felt fingers brush gently though his dark hair, and then a moment later he heard the creaking hinges of the closing cell door and the click of the lock before hearing the vampire's fading footsteps.

Then Kyle lost conciousness.
