Kyle groaned. His entire body ached and throbbed. Breathing hurt. Slowly, his brown and blue eyes fluttered opened. He was lying on his stomach in the cell. At first, he tried to remember how he got there, why he was in so much pain... but it all came back in one very unpleasant wave and his back seemed to hurt even more. He groaned again, bracing his hands against the ground, preparing to push himself up, but he felt a gentle hand on his arm.
"You think it hurts now, you really don't want to be moving." came Gabriel's calm voice.
The calico paused, then sighed and let his arms relax at his sides again, wincing slightly. He heard the sound of dripping water and then felt a cool, wet rag placed on his back. He hissed in pain, but slowly it died down to the dull throbbing and felt just a little better. "Thanks...." He muttered.
Gabriel just gave that same sad smile. "He took it easy on you.... I wonder why?" He said after a pause.
Kyle bit back a moan. "Easy?"
The albino nodded. "Caine usually doesn't whip you back, like most. He'll hit your front, and that hurts much worse, I promise." He gently dabbed the rag on Kyle's numerous gashes on his back, then took the rag and wetted it again.
The cat demon bit back another hiss of pain. "Lucky me." He mumbled darkly.
Gabriel smiled again. Kyle released a small sigh and closed his eyes. After a while, his back didn't hurt as terribly much. It still hurt like hell, but Gabriel's cleaning the wounds seemed to be helping. Before he realized it, Kyle had driffted back into an exhasted sleep.
When he woke again, Kyle's pain in his back was down to a dull throbbing. But his front now ached as well, his lungs complaining with every breath against the cramped ribs, his arms and legs stiff as he moved them. With a small groan, Kyle managed to sit up.
Other then a sharp pain shooting from his lower back to his shoulders at the movement, it didn't cause much change. Choosing not to change it, though, Kyle stayed sitting, closing his eyes briefly against a threatening headache.
Then Kyle's eyes snapped open. Sure he had missed something, he glanced all around the cell, his ears pricked forward.
Fighting down a cry of surprise, Kyle continued to look around and around the cell, but there was no mistaking it; Gabriel was gone!
Kyle's ears and tail twiched nervously as he glanced towards the cell door. Closed, and locked, for all he knew. The calico looked around once more. He noticed that there was a bowl turned up-side down which had before held water, judging by the fading stain on the stone around it. Next to the bowl layed the blood-stained rag Gabriel had been using to tend to Kyle.
The calico shuddered slightly, sending a prickling of pain down his back.
Then Kyle heard a heavy door slam open. The unmistakable sound of approaching foot-steps and what sounded like something being drug. And the also unmistakable scent of blood, as well as another unpleasant scent.
Kyle's heart beat hard against his chest and his throat felt terribly dry.
Caine was in sight seconds later, unlocking the heavy iron door to the cell, and he had Gabriel by his hair, who released a low whimpering moan.
When the door was opened, the vampire practically tossed the barely-concious cat demon into the cell. His silver eyes fixed on Kyle. "When your wounds heal..." he point to Gabriel, "you should expect the same."
The iron door closed with a shuddering bang, and then the vampire was gone. Trying to remember to breath, Kyle crawled on hands and knees to Gabriel, still in too much pain to stand.
If Kyle had looked bad after his beating, Gabriel looked worse. The only cloathing on his body was a sheet that was barely covering his lower half. His entire body was covered with bruises and small cuts, and the unmistakable wounds left by fangs in a few places.
He was panting for breath, his red eyes half-lidded and weak, his entire body trembling, sweat glistening on his whole form. The calico suddenly realized what the other scent was, and it nearly made him sick. Besides sweat and blood, Gabriel's skin was wet with cum. The albino suddenly shuddered tightly and clutched at the sheet, whimpering slightly.
"Oh, Gabriel...." Kyle breathed. Tears burned in his mismatched eyes. Kneeling beside the albino cat demon, Kyle carefully rested Gabriel's head on his lap, gently stroking his fingers through Gabriel's white hair.
Gabriel was trembling violently and he closed his eyes. It took a while, but his breathing finally evened out a little. But it took longer for him to stop shaking. The entire time, Kyle just stroked his hair, whispering calming words every now and then. He didn't know what else he could do.
He carefully pulled the slightly-bloodstained sheet around the cat demon a little more, to offer some sort of comfort, and it seemed to help a little.
After a few more long minuets, Gabriel was still, his breathing even. Kyle figured he had either finally fallen asleep... or lost conciousness.
